The actor, director and theater manager Wolfgang Krebs founded the Schlosstheater Thurnau in 2012 with a venue in the old town hall in the center of Thurnau. Every summer, the Thurnau Castle Festival also takes place, where professional actors meet up with well-known amateurs from the region and provide unforgettable summer evenings in the lower castle courtyard with socially critical comedies, dramas and literary-musical programs.
