A romantic market town with a long history - that is Thurnau. The old, picturesquely situated castle tells of over 1000 years of eventful history. The late Gothic church of St. Laurentius and the town houses around the historic market square give the town its very own charm. The many potteries and the pottery museum are proof of this: Thurnau and pottery have been closely linked for a long time. Pottery markets are held several times a year - a great opportunity to stroll, look and shop. And what else? Whether you want to enjoy listening to one of the many concerts, indulge in your passion for golf on our fairways or marvel at the lively round of couples around the 300-year-old Limmersdorfer Tanzlinde - a lot is possible. Thurnau offers just the right mix of culture and leisure fun, enjoyment and conviviality. For an all-round carefree vacation.
